Chief Advancement Officer

As Chief Advancement Officer, Jake Marini is responsible for the strategic cultivation, development and execution of fundraising activities to enhance the profile and grow the impact of the Foundation. Her development career has spanned two continents – from the Royal Shakespeare Company in England to the University of Pennsylvania and United Way here in Philadelphia. Recognized for fostering collaboration and inspiring trust across disparate groups, Jake’s nonprofit experience also includes strategy, operations, partnership development, and managing special events.

Formerly the Vice President and University Secretary in the Office of the President at Drexel University, Jake had primary responsibility for the content and execution of all board of trustees’ meetings and communications and managed a broad range of sensitive projects and initiatives for the University President. Later in her Drexel career she became Vice Provost for Global Engagement, with responsibility for academic and research partnerships as well as study abroad and global classroom programming.

Before Drexel, Jake served as Chief of Staff to the President and Vice President for University Affairs at Thomas Jefferson University. She developed Jefferson’s international partnerships and affiliations, and was the senior manager for core university functions such as registrar, space planning, academic events, library services, communications and financial aid. Prior to these positions, Jake served as Executive Director for Special Events in the University of Pennsylvania’s President’s Office; the Head of Cultivation and Events  for the Royal Shakespeare Company (UK); and Alumni Relations Manager for St. Edmund Hall, Oxford University (UK).

A native of Stratford, Connecticut, Jake is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and a Fellow of Bryn Mawr College’s Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute (NELI). She has been an associate member of the Consular Corps of Philadelphia and held board positions at Global Philadelphia Association and Inis Nua Theatre Company. She enjoys international travel, riding her bicycle, and supporting theatre, live music, and the Philadelphia Flyers. She is also a Jeopardy! champion.
