The Edna W. Andrade Fund Announces Grants

The Edna W. Andrade Fund, a Donor Advised Fund of the Philadelphia Foundation, today announced a new round of grantees.

Established through the estate of Edna Andrade, a leading Philadelphia teacher and artist who was associated with the Op Art movement of the 1960s, The Edna W. Andrade Fund supports grants for local or national museums or nonprofit art organizations to benefit visual fine artists from Greater Philadelphia.

Spring 2024 Grantees:

The Colored Girls Museum exhibition “The Living Room II: Interior Gardens” curated by and featuring the works of artist Syd Carpenter inspired by dreams and tenacity of Black Farmers and Horticulturists.

Grant amount is $10,000.

 

Taller Puertorriqueño in support of the exhibition, Doris Nogueira: Bio Tropolis.

Grant amount is $20,000.

 

African American Museum in Philadelphia in support of “World Spinnin” on a 45 (TSOP: The Sound of Philadelphia a commissioned artwork collaboration between AAMP and Beau McCall.

Grant amount is $10,000.

 

St. Joseph’s University for the Frances M. Maguire Art Museum‘s acquisition of artworks by local artists Marta Sanchez and/or Lavett Ballard.

Grant amount is $10,000.

 

Barnes Foundation in support of the exhibition Mickalene Thomas: All About Love.

Grant amount is $10,000.

 

Trustees of Princeton University for the Princeton Art Museum in support of the Princeton University Art Museum exhibition of Roberto Lugo/ Orange and Black.

Grant amount is $10,000.

 

The Print Center in support of the exhibition Cecelia Paredes: The Encounter and The Witness

Grant amount is $10,000.

 

Rowan University Foundation, Inc on behalf of Rowan University Art Gallery in support of the Rowan University Art Gallery & Museum Lavett Ballard Exhibition.

Grant amount is $10,000.

 

Monmouth University for the DiMattio Gallery in support of Activating Democracy for 20 Years: Sheryl Oring’s I Wish to Say.

Grant amount is $10,000.
